The Attorneys
Since 2003, Chad Knott has helped families and businesses in the North Georgia Mountains with important legal decisions. A Georgia Tech engineer turned Georgia State law graduate, he built his practice in Cleveland. He’s a trusted attorney, devoted husband and father, neighbor, and active community member.
MaryBeth Handte, a White County native, returned to the North Georgia Mountains after a career in high-stakes litigation. A University of North Georgia graduate in Business Administration and Korean, she brings strategic clarity and disciplined advocacy to each client. She views practicing law as her calling and privilege to serve her hometown. Outside work, she hikes mountain trails with her dogs.
The Team
Chloe Cantrell, Closing Manager: Known for adaptability and precision, Chloe is the firm’s “Swiss Army Knife,” skillfully handling challenges. With a background in education, she brings patience, organization, and warmth to ensure smooth closings. Outside work, she enjoys cooking and spoiling her nieces and nephews.
Kelli Phillips, Office Manager: Kelli combines warmth and experience. A devoted wife and mother, she’s known for her humor and welcoming presence. Raised in Gwinnett County, she now calls North Georgia home. With a background in Administration and HR, she keeps the firm organized and efficient. Outside work, she enjoys time with her grandchildren and reading on the beach.
Tracy Foor, Senior Paralegal: Estate Administration Paralegal with extensive and robust experience. With a background in Biology, she brings precision, organization, and compassion to estate matters, supporting families through difficult times. Outside work she enjoys family time and spoiling her twin grandsons.
Laura Ware, Legal Intern: Future attorney passionate about justice and global service. A Samford University graduate in International Relations, she brings curiosity and a broad worldview. The team’s resident world traveler, she also loves the North Georgia Mountains. Outside work she enjoys reading and experimenting with baking recipes.
